Another trip to Boston? Jeez, just move there!
Yep. On Saturday, my wife and I are piling into the Element for a three-day jaunt to Boston. And this time, beer is a priority.
This is the perfect time of year to visit Boston, before all those annoying bandwagon Red Sox fans start popping up in full regalia like boils on a particularly nasty rash. And with so much to see and sample, I need to keep my blood pressure low.
I’ve been wanting to visit the Publick House for some time now; to experience firsthand their snotty staff and awesome beer selection, to get a bit further afield than Boylston Street and taste some of the rarer offerings of the Hub’s beer scene, to tour the Harpoon Brewery.
So, with typical aplomb, irreverence, and mediocre photographic skill, I shall bring you the results of another Boston Jaunt. In the meantime, the blog will be updated regularly.
Because I like you guys.

PLUS their loss to the Giants will be fresh in everyone’s mind. HAHA!!
I’m pretty sure it’s not the beer you go to Boston for, but so you can wear your Red Sox gear and fit in! Closet Red Sox Fan, a damn shame. I mean let’s look at this. Why else would someone take repeated trips to Boston? To hear that ridiculous accent? To drive through the big dig now that its completed? To deal with the most annoying group of sports fans this side of Soccer Fan? Let’s face it, the beer isn’t that good in Boston.
publick house is great…except for the weird mighty mighty bosstones tribute room…its in the back corner if you want a strange and somewhat creepy environment to taste in…
check out cambridge brewery if you can…probably my favorite in boston
Cambridge brewery is outstanding. I’ve always been a fan of Boston beer works my self.Redbones was also very interesting, especially after spinning the wheel a few too many times.
Funny you should mention that, Sparkles. I was at Harpoon Brewery on Sunday the 10th, and they, having lost a bet with Brooklyn Brewery, were sporting a Brooklyn beer on their tap. First time in their history they’ve had a non-Harpoon beer in their tasting room.
Mark, did you enjoy the 100 Barrel Series Firth of Forth? I still have an unopened growler of that waiting for a special occasion
The Munich Dark was also excellent. Looking forward to reading your reacp.
Scott, we’re gonna hit Hahpoon today. I hear it’s a fantastic tour. Then maybe back over to the Deep Ellu.
